We combined it with venison burgers and had happy, full tummies at the end of the meal. I l-o-v-e, LOVE having a garden! It has saved me so many trips to the grocery store. So thankful my husband and daughter are into gardening because I pretty much stick with growing flowers and herbs.
A recipe for traditional fried green tomatoes is below. They are so easy to make and super yummy. But this weekend I used The Neely's recipe because it adds a little spice and used panko bread crumbs, which is my favorite way to crisp a recipe up.
Traditional Fried Green Tomatoes
Cut tomatoes 1/4 inch thick. Sprinkle both sides with salt and black pepper. Dredge in flour. Then dip tomatoes in a mixture of 2 eggs and 1/2 cup milk. Then dredge in corn flour. Fry in in vegetable oil until golden brown and crispy.
